i just watched another novel-based movie, Paranoid Park. the movie's about a skateboarder named Alex who accidentally smacked a security's head which made that guy fell on another rail-track with an on-coming train that went over him and split him into two. it was a gruesome scene that i didn't expect from that movie because the security guy was actually still moving when both of his legs weren't attached anymore. he was just an old guy doing his job! (okay. and it was just a movie, so, chill). the only part that i like about the movie is the cinematography, especially when they were skating with that soothing background music. kind of sent me the nostalgic feeling.
so after i was done with the movie i Google-d up if they have the soundtrack for the movie and found out they only released it in France. but, i got a list of songs and artists that were involved with the movie and that's how i fell in love with Menomena! this three-piece band's from Portland, Oregon, U.S. and the fact that they named the band because "the way it rolls off the tongue, sexually, or something" is pretty funny and cute enough. the first song that i listened to, repeatedly (even currently, as i'm typing this) is Wet and Rusting. i'm not really good at describing but they remind me of The Shins + Portishead. check them out!
